The Nazis destroyed the gas chambers at Auschwitz in November 1944, this is what they do to those “unfit for work” after that point
They built the gas chambers to more efficiently do what they were doing before without the German field soldiers have to do it personally.
Have them dig a trench, then use rifles and/or machine guns to kill them.
That way used up ammo, soldiers, and time they needed someplace else, like the front. It was also much slower.
Both the Gas chamber and cremation was used to make the process quicker and cheaper.
Even if the gas chambers were destroyed, they still would have continued with the killing of the Holocaust. They may have slowed, but not stopping at all.
Unfortunately, most if the concentration camps locations was known until discovered by ground forces. Even if discovered, WW2 bombing accuracy wasn't good enough to be sure to destroythe gas chambers without area bombing the entire area. Most were in Poland or Soviet, far out of range of England.
BTW, the gas chambers were not destroyed until.after WW2.
In fact, some of them still exists today.
