How they prepare someone who is going to be executed by the electric chair

Every time it really depends on a state and a prison where the inmate is executed. Basically there is a very similar scenario for all of them.

Say goodbye

  • a few hours before execution an inmate writes his “Good Bye” letter
  • he is allowed to have his last phone call (depends on him to whom he cals)
  • he is asked what should be the last meal he wants to eat and the cook prepares it for him

Process of preparation

After eating inmate's last meal, he has to take a shower. Guards check all parts of his body.

Then they help him to wear an adult diaper. It’s very important because during an execution inmates often urinate, defecate or ejaculate.

Then the inmate must dress into a uniform. Colour of this uniform depends on a prison but every time it’s just one colour uniform.

Depends on a prison, the inmate is asked if he want some socks to protect his feet walking to the execution. But mostly it’s not important and the inmate is lead in the electric chair barefoot without any shoes and socks. If he has some, guards will take them off as he will be strapped to the chair.

After dressing, guards shave inmate's head and one of his ankles must be prepared for an electrode. So is his head, so there can’t be anything that could slow electric circuit.

After this process guards take the inmate into an execution room and the inmate is executed.

The decapitated woman who was the last person in Arizona to be executed by hanging

Eva Dugan gained notoriety by being the only woman executed and the last person in Arizona to be executed by hanging. She was arrested, convicted, and sentenced to death for the murder of an elderly chicken rancher, Andrew J. Mathis, and was ordered to be hung for the killing.  Eva claimed innocence until her time ran out but accepted her fate nonetheless. She seemed composed as she mounted the steps towards the gallows, telling the guards, "Don't hold my arms so tight, the people will think I'm afraid." She swayed slightly as the noose was placed around her neck and tightened. As the trapdoor below her feet gave way, her head was decapitated from her body. It rolled to a corner of the platform by spectators' feet. The crowd that gathered gasped. The gas chamber replaced the gallows after that incident. Here is the story in detail Mrs. Eva Dugan, the first woman to be legally executed in Arizona, paid with her life on the gallows shortly before dawn today for the ...

The Execution of Irma Grese

The Execution of Irma Grese  Irma Grese, often referred to as the "Hyena of Auschwitz," remains one of the most infamous female figures associated with Nazi war crimes. Her name is synonymous with the brutality that characterized the Holocaust, and her execution marked the end of a young life steeped in unimaginable cruelty. Early Life and Rise to Power Born on October 7, 1923, in Wrechen, Germany, Irma Grese grew up in a tumultuous household. Her mother committed suicide when Grese was only 13 years old, an event that had a profound impact on her. At 15, she left school and initially worked as a nurse, but soon became captivated by Nazi ideology. By the age of 19, she had joined the SS and was assigned to work at the Ravensbrück concentration camp as a guard. Her rise within the ranks of the SS was swift and alarming. Grese was later transferred to Auschwitz-Birkenau, one of the most notorious concentration camps, where she quickly gained a reputation for her extreme sa...

How common were instances of sexual abuse in Nazi concentration camps

How common were instances of sexual abuse in Nazi concentration camps. The accounts that rap£ or prostitution was common, Were the guards were given "free reign" over the prisoners given view of them as subhuman The Nazis sort of developed a network of state-controlled brothels during the war. This included both the civilian and military brothels. The Nazis even set up brothels for the forced labor inmates that helped with the German war effort as incentives for higher production from prisoners in camps. Back then these brothels were suppose to serving several needs. For the soldiers that were far away from home, the Nazis thought that having these brothels would reduce the possibility of rape in occupied lands and reducing the sexual relations with impure local women or forced laborer's, as well. Heck, the Nazis tried to use these brothel women to cure homosexuality as a treatment with male prisoners that were gay. Regular German women were exempt from serving in these b...

The prisoners in concentration camps have sex with each other

The prisoners in concentration camps have sex with each other Steady on. Nearly all concentration camps were single-sex, and at those that held both men and women the sexes were usually kept separate, though at Auschwitz III (Monowitz) and possibly also some other sub-camps they worked together. At extermination camps (where the sexes were not separated) most of the prisoners were killed within 24 hours of arrival. Prisoners did not have privacy. Remember that at the time most people had a horror of same-sex relations, especially between men. However, some Kapos and even guards forced prisoners to have sex with them. In Night Elie Wiesel relates how he found his Kapo having sex with a female prisoner, and he (Wiesel) was given 25 lashes for finding them having sex.* In the Women’s Camp at least one guard forced another woman to have sex with her, and at many camps there was a piepel (camp bum boy). *He also describes the hanging of the piepel of a Blockältester ( ‘block senior’). ...
