How large numbers of people executed before modern methods like gas/guns. Like in the middle ages, How would anyone have carried out a mass execution

After having captured some prisoners the Vikings who attacked Paris hanged some 111 of them.

Centuries later another person made the Les Grandes Misères de la guerre which still provides one of the most recognisable images from the 17th century.

In the aftermath of the battle of Nicopolis the Sultan had the prisoners beheaded until he grew sick watching the spectacle. Anywhere from 300 to 3000 men were beheaded on that day.

I don’t believe the Patriot as a movie is an accurate historical account, but I don’think it would be unheard of for people to be placed in a building that was set on fire.

The Children Of Hitler's "Master Race" Experiment Are Still Alive, And Here's What They Look Like

1 OF 37 THE HORRORS OF THE THIRD REICH NEXT LIST Nazi Germany didn't just seek to eradicate those who didn't meet the criteria of their ideal race. They also fought to create a super genetic line through selective breeding in the ultra-secret, undeniably twisted Lebensborn program. It was akin to  Josef Mengele's concentration camp experiments  to the extent that it involved Nazi "science" and a total lack of bioethics. This program, created by the SS, was a state-supported, registered association sparked by the shrinking birth rate in Nazi Germany. Lebensborn mothers faced a moral predicament. While many already were fervent followers of Hitler, for some, it was a matter of survival in war-torn, Nazi-occupied Europe. The Lebensborn program attempted to breed racial purity through a very specific set of phenotypic criteria. The children of Lebensborn were often kidnapped from their Nordic and Eastern European families, forced to erase their past identities and b...

Reasons why it's possible to survive firing squad

There are two reasons for this; one, why not headshot, and two, why not just a shooter? Military firing squad. They do not shoot the head because, while effective at killing a person, shooting the head will usually destroy any identifiable facial features. This is not desirable, as it means that you cannot have an open-casket funeral (if you are inclined to be magnanimous) or display your body as proof that you are, in fact, dead. They have a multiple shooter firing squad to give everyone diffusion of responsibility. Have you ever wondered why the Nazis went to the trouble of building camps and gas chambers instead of simply machine-gunning their victims? The Third Reich did some research into the "best" way to commit genocide and discovered that, even with all the conditioning to view Jews and undesirables as "subhuman," shooting unarmed people tended to take a toll on a soldier's mental health. . Unless the man in the image above is a literal psychopath, he wi...

How common were instances of sexual abuse in Nazi concentration camps

How common were instances of sexual abuse in Nazi concentration camps. The accounts that rap£ or prostitution was common, Were the guards were given "free reign" over the prisoners given view of them as subhuman The Nazis sort of developed a network of state-controlled brothels during the war. This included both the civilian and military brothels. The Nazis even set up brothels for the forced labor inmates that helped with the German war effort as incentives for higher production from prisoners in camps. Back then these brothels were suppose to serving several needs. For the soldiers that were far away from home, the Nazis thought that having these brothels would reduce the possibility of rape in occupied lands and reducing the sexual relations with impure local women or forced laborer's, as well. Heck, the Nazis tried to use these brothel women to cure homosexuality as a treatment with male prisoners that were gay. Regular German women were exempt from serving in these b...

The prisoners in concentration camps have sex with each other

The prisoners in concentration camps have sex with each other Steady on. Nearly all concentration camps were single-sex, and at those that held both men and women the sexes were usually kept separate, though at Auschwitz III (Monowitz) and possibly also some other sub-camps they worked together. At extermination camps (where the sexes were not separated) most of the prisoners were killed within 24 hours of arrival. Prisoners did not have privacy. Remember that at the time most people had a horror of same-sex relations, especially between men. However, some Kapos and even guards forced prisoners to have sex with them. In Night Elie Wiesel relates how he found his Kapo having sex with a female prisoner, and he (Wiesel) was given 25 lashes for finding them having sex.* In the Women’s Camp at least one guard forced another woman to have sex with her, and at many camps there was a piepel (camp bum boy). *He also describes the hanging of the piepel of a Blockältester ( ‘block senior’). ...
