German camp brothels in World War II In World War II, Nazi Germany established brothels in the concentration camps

German camp brothels in World War II

In World War II, Nazi Germany established brothels in the concentration camps (Lagerbordell or Freudenabteilungen "Joy Divisions") to increase productivity among inmates, although these institutions were used mostly by Kapos, "prisoner functionaries" and the criminal element, because regular inmates, penniless and emaciated, were usually too debilitated and wary of exposure to Schutzstaffel (SS) schemes. In the end, the camp brothels did not produce any noticeable increase in the prisoners' productivity levels, but instead, created a market for coupons among the camp VIPs.

The women forced into these brothels came mainly from the women-only Ravensbrück concentration camp, except for Auschwitz, which employed its own prisoners. In combination with the German military brothels in World War II, it is estimated that at least 34,140 female inmates were forced into sexual slavery during the Third Reich.

The first camp brothel was established in Mauthausen/Gusen in 1942. After 30 June 1943, a camp brothel existed in Auschwitz, and from 15 July 1943, in Buchenwald. The one in Neuengamme was established in early 1944, Dachau's in May 1944, Dora-Mittelbau's in late summer, and Sachsenhausen's on 8 August 1944. There are conflicting dates for the camp brothel in Flossenbürg: one source claims summer 1943; another states it was not opened until 25 March 1944.

The camp brothels were usually built as barracks surrounded by a barbed-wire fence, with small individual rooms for up to 20 female prisoners, controlled by a female overseer (Aufseherin). The women were replaced frequently due to exhaustion and illness, and were usually sent away to their deaths later. The brothels were open only in the evenings.

No Jewish male prisoners were allowed as patrons. Those with access to the customer lineup (Aryan VIPs only), had to sign up for a specific day and pay two Reichsmarks for a 20-minute "service" based on a predetermined schedule. The women were matched with clients by an SS-man. The market for the "prize-coupons" was routinely cornered by the common criminals who wore the green triangles (hence the "green men" denomination). There is evidence (somewhat controversial) that in some of the brothels, women might have had tattoos inscribed on their chests saying Feld-Hure ("field whore"). Some of them underwent forced sterilizations as well as forced abortions, often resulting in death.
The subject of forced prostitution in the camps was alluded to in survivors' memoirs at least as early as 1972, when the first edition of Heinz Heger's book was published. However, the subject remained largely taboo in studies of Nazism until the mid-1990s, when new publications by female researchers broke the silence.
Sometimes the SS enticed women into serving in the brothels by promising them more humane treatment or reductions of their indefinite sentence. This caused anger or envy among some female inmates. Nina Michailovna, Russian camp prisoner, reported: "When we found out that a girl in our block was chosen, we caught her and threw a blanket on her and beat her up so badly that she could hardly move. It wasn't clear if she would recover.

They just wanted to have a better life and we punished them this way.

Heinrich Himmler also attempted to use these brothels to teach pink triangle prisoners "the joys of the opposite sex"  i.e., as "therapy" for their homosexuality. Heger claims that Himmler directed that all gay prisoners were to make compulsory visits to the camp brothel once per week as a means of "curing" them of homosexuality

did mystique really have to walk home naked after she lost her powers in last stand

So did mystique really have to walk home naked after she lost her powers in last stand? Her feelings would be really really hurt at the moment and she would feel very vulnerable as a human looking like one but as he literally left her there I don’t think she would take too long into weaponizing this shame into looking like an innocent victim “could you please take me to civilization, oh a sweater? Thank you you are a kind soul 😇 “ Unless the feds arrived really, really fast she would be out of that place in 20 minutes tops and only if not much cars are passing by. Though she might contact the feds herself if there is some deals to be won. All the dirt and location of magneto resources in exchange of a blank slate and a promise of not doing any activities that could be considered criminal She would be charged. They know her identity despite her ability to shapeshifter including her fingerprints. She will not be off the hook like the last person said. They know who she is and power...

What actually happened to a person who was revived/survived death sentence

Here is a question before us If a person is revived/survived after the death sentence, is he free, imprisoned or sentenced to death again? There’s actually been a case like that. In 1893, a convicted murderer named Will Purvis was hung, but survived. A lot of people thought he was innocent, and he steadfastly proclaimed his innocence. A group of churchgoers who were part of the crowd were praying that he might be delivered right up to the moment that the lever opening the trap door through which Purvis would drop was pulled. The noose didn’t hold and Purvis survived. At this point the entire crowd believed this was a sign from God that Purvis was innocent, but the judge and the lawyers agreed that the sentence was “hung by the neck  until dead .” Though Purvis had fulfilled the first requirement, he hadn’t managed the second. The sheriff was ordered to rehang the prisoner immediately. But, being a God-fearing man himself (to say nothing of being a politician dependent on the votes ...

How common were instances of sexual abuse in Nazi concentration camps

How common were instances of sexual abuse in Nazi concentration camps. The accounts that rap£ or prostitution was common, Were the guards were given "free reign" over the prisoners given view of them as subhuman The Nazis sort of developed a network of state-controlled brothels during the war. This included both the civilian and military brothels. The Nazis even set up brothels for the forced labor inmates that helped with the German war effort as incentives for higher production from prisoners in camps. Back then these brothels were suppose to serving several needs. For the soldiers that were far away from home, the Nazis thought that having these brothels would reduce the possibility of rape in occupied lands and reducing the sexual relations with impure local women or forced laborer's, as well. Heck, the Nazis tried to use these brothel women to cure homosexuality as a treatment with male prisoners that were gay. Regular German women were exempt from serving in these b...

The prisoners in concentration camps have sex with each other

The prisoners in concentration camps have sex with each other Steady on. Nearly all concentration camps were single-sex, and at those that held both men and women the sexes were usually kept separate, though at Auschwitz III (Monowitz) and possibly also some other sub-camps they worked together. At extermination camps (where the sexes were not separated) most of the prisoners were killed within 24 hours of arrival. Prisoners did not have privacy. Remember that at the time most people had a horror of same-sex relations, especially between men. However, some Kapos and even guards forced prisoners to have sex with them. In Night Elie Wiesel relates how he found his Kapo having sex with a female prisoner, and he (Wiesel) was given 25 lashes for finding them having sex.* In the Women’s Camp at least one guard forced another woman to have sex with her, and at many camps there was a piepel (camp bum boy). *He also describes the hanging of the piepel of a Blockältester ( ‘block senior’). ...
